INFERTILITY

FEMALE INFERTILITY

It is the inability of the female to be pregnant with regular intercourse and without using any contraceptive devices or medication while having normal ovulation.

The most common causes are an imbalance in the temperament of the reproductive organ in its part or whole (this could be of cool or heat syndrome) or poly cystic ovary and fibroids.

MALE INFERTILITY

In general, it is the inability to have children, which translates to the inability of the man’s sperm to fertilize the ova (egg) from a healthy woman.

The causes may include no sperms, decreased number of sperms, decreased motility of sperms and abnormal shape of sperms.

Other causes could be psychological, fatigue, stress, alcohol and uses of certain drugs

Interventions and Treatments

Hijama (Cupping) Therapy and Acupuncture can help regulate the hormonal system and stimulate ovulation.

They stimulate ovulation, stimulates ovaries, regulates sex hormones and encourage temperamental balance in the sex organs.

Other interventions include:  Traditional Herbal Remedies from Islamic, African Traditional or other Medical linage, Dietary interventions and a Change of life style.

Where the husband is healthy and fit - pregnancy may occur from 1 to 6 months after the first Hijama or Acupuncture session.

Use of any of these methods to treat will be based on examination of the patient and related investigations.

There are other reasons that conception might elude a couple that are not mentioned here.

There might also be a need to use a combination of treatments as would be deduced from results of examination and investigations carried out.

It is always advisable to consult a qualified Traditional Medicine Practitioner (TMP).
